Texas Woman Arrested In Millington Carrying 153 Pounds Of Pot, 3 Kids: THP
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says an Amarillo, Texas, woman was carrying 153 pounds of marijuana and three children.
MILLINGTON, TN — The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a Texas woman was hauling 153 pounds of marijuana along with three children when she was arrested Tuesday outside of Millington, about 20 miles northeast of Memphis.
THP Sergeant Matt Stipes stopped a 2004 Lincoln Navigator on Interstate 40 in Fayette County for following another car too closely. The driver, 29-year-old Rosa Flores of Amarillo, Texas, made "inconsistent statements" during the stop, according to the trooper, and he called for assistance from THP's drug interdiction team.

While awaiting the arrival of Trooper Jason Fuller and his K9 partner, Max, Stipes noticed three children — ages 5, 9 and 12 — travelling with Flores. When he arrived, Max made a positive indication there were drugs in the Navigator, the THP reports, and 153 pounds of marijuana wrapped in cellophane and rubbed with axle grease were found hidden in compartments in the door panels and seat backs.
Flores was arrested without incident and transported to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office for booking. The three children were released into Department of Children's Services custody.
