NASHVILLE, TN - Thanksgiving weekend is a rare opportunity to see friends and family that you might not have seen in a while. Don't let the Tryptophan keep you from exploring the different shopping and entertainment options that Nashville has to offer.

The Hip Hop Nutcracker is a contemporary twist on an old classic by Tchaikovsky. It's choreographed by Jennifer Webber and features a dozen highly trained hip hop dancers, a DJ and a violinist. This holiday mash-up is set in 1980's Brooklyn and is sure to be something the whole family can enjoy.

Nashville Gobble Gobble Give will hold it's 3rd annual food and clothing drive for the homeless in Nashville. The event fed 3,000 people last year which is almost 3/4 of Nashville's homeless population, and this year, the goal is 4,000. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a heated entree, 5 small toiletry kits (toothbrush/toothpaste, soap and shampoo), clothing and blankets. While it's encouraged to donate what you can, it isn't required

Nashville Flea Market is having a full weekend of holiday sales. The Nashville Flea Market boasts unique antiques at incredible bargains and they're dropping their prices even for more for the Thanksgiving weekend. With over 1200 individual vendors and 2000 booths, it's the perfect place to find funky, affordable gifts for friends and family.

  • When: Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

After Thanksgiving Hike is a 3 mile guided hike led by the Tennessee State Parks Department. Enjoy the outdoors while learning about the forced removal of the Cherokee people from their homeland. Hot chocolate and cider will be provided. You can register for the hike ahead of time to secure your spot.

Cottage Cove Toy Drive is the 3rd annual toy drive hosted by The Fellowship at Mt. Juliet. It's free to attend, and for every toy you donate, you'll receive $1 off any purchase of $10 or more from one of Nashville's favorite food trucks, including Dawg Daze, Brother's Burgers, Cousin's Maine Lobster and The Grilled Cheeserie.
