Adopt A Pet Fee-Free In Nashville Through July 3

Metro Animal Care and Control's fee-free adoptions are part of an effort to get 10,000 animals adopted in 10 days.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The Independence Day holiday is often a fearful time for pets. Celebratory fireworks often send animals fleeing in fright and many of them end up in local animal shelters, so providing plenty of room in local shelters ahead of the big day is critical.

As part of a nationwide effort to get 10,000 animals across the country adopted before July 4, Metro Animal Care and Control, partnering with Best Friends Animal Society and more than 270 other rescue groups nationwide, is offering fee-free adoptions between June 25 and July 3.

"If you get excited when a stranger pays for your coffee, imagine the joy you’ll feel when adopting a pet whose adoption fee has been covered," said Julie Castle, chief executive officer of Best Friends Animal Society.
