Nashville's Fisk University scored a $25,000 scholarship from pop megastar Beyonce, whose father is an alumnus.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Nashville's Fisk University is one of eight recipients of a $25,000 scholarship from Beyonce as part of the megastar's BeyGOOD Homecoming Scholars program.
During her set at Coachella, Beyonce announced the program, saying four historically black colleges and universities - New Orleans' Xavier University of Louisiana, Ohio's Wilberforce University, Alabama's Tuskegee University, and Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla. - would receive the $25,000 scholarships. Later, Google said it would match Beyonce's $100,000, opening up the opportunity to four other colleges.
