Bird Strike Forces Phoenix-Bound Flight Back To Nashville
A Southwest Airlines pilot safely landed his plane back at Nashville International after a bird strike shortly after take-off.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A Southwest Airlines pilot safely landed his jet at Nashville International Airport after a bird strike shortly after takeoff early Wednesday morning.
The airline reported that Phoenix-bound Flight 577, which departed at 5:13 a.m., returned to the airport at 5:37 after the plane was hit by a bird. No one was injured and the captain landed the plane without further incident.

"The aircraft will be taken out of service for maintenance review and we’re currently working diligently to accommodate those passengers on to their destination," Southwest said in a statement.
