A steering committee of resident volunteers who are set to lead a Nashville North/Bordeaux participatory budgeting initiative will hold their first meeting at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 8.

Mayor John Cooper in March included $2 million in his capital spending plan to bring participatory budgeting to Nashville for the first time. As the Metro Council’s 37208 special committee examined, North Nashville is a historically under-served area in need of infrastructure investment.
Residents within the North Nashville participatory budgeting area will determine the infrastructure investments they wish to fund in a process led by citizen volunteers and the community.

North Nashville Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee Meeting details
Community meetings with residents will soon begin as the participatory budget unfolds.
The July 8 meeting of the steering committee will be more administrative in nature and will not include a public comment period.
