Coke Dealer Arrested While Pushing Baby In Stroller: Police

A 21-year-old is accused of selling cocaine near a Nashville school while pushing a 6-month-old in a stroller and carrying a stolen gun.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Police say a 21-year-old Nashville man was selling cocaine, carrying a stolen gun and pushing a baby in a stroller outside of an elementary school.

Dontae M. Easley is charged with aggravated child endangerment, possession or casual exchange of a controlled substance, possessing cocaine in a drug-free school zone, possession of drug paraphernalia and gun possession the the intent to commit a felony.

According to an arrest report, a passerby reported a man with a baby stroller selling drugs at 16th Avenue North and Cockrill Street near Robert Churchwell Elementary School. When officers arrived, they found Easley, who they described as "nervous" in his affidavit, next to the stroller with a 6-month-old inside.

Police say that they found cocaine, marijuana, a 9-millimeter Smith & Wesson that had been reported stolen from Columbia and digital scales. Investigators say Easley was carrying $1,252 in cash.

Detectives say Easley admitted he was selling drugs and that he was carrying the gun for protection.
