Convicted Killer Tries Removing Sleeping Woman's Clothes: Police

A man convicted in a 2014 homicide broke into a woman's apartment Thursday and tried taking off her clothes as she slept, police say.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A convicted killer broke into a woman's Rosa Parks Boulevard apartment and tried removing her clothes as she slept, according to police.

Shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, a woman alerted officers she was sleeping in her apartment along with her two children, both under the age of 5, when a man pulled the comforter off her, put his hand in her pants and tried removing them. The man ran from the apartment when she screamed.

The woman described the intruder to police, who recognized him as Andrew Dewayne Lewis; officers spoke with Lewis earlier in the day regarding a domestic disturbance between him and his mother, according to an affidavit.
