Drunken Wrong-Way Driver Nearly Hits Nashville July 4 Revelers
An allegedly drunken driver ran on to a sidewalk Wednesday night, nearly hitting a group of people celebrating Independence Day.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A speeding wrong-way drunken driver nearly plowed into a crowd in downtown Nashville on Independence Day.
Police say the driver, Kristofer Jones, was heading the wrong direction near the intersection of Second Avenue South and Korean Veterans Boulevard when he noticed cars coming towards him, causing him to veer up on to the sidewalk, just missing people who were standing there for the fireworks and July 4 concert.

One person was hit by the car's side mirror but was not seriously injured; the car did hit a number of road signs.
