Early Turnout Paltry In Special Mayoral Election
Fewer than 10 percent of active voters cast an early ballot in the special election for Metro Nashville mayor.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Perhaps it's voter fatigue after the hotly contested transit referendum or perhaps the necessarily short campaign for the snap election isn't making any headway.
Or perhaps people just missed the memo that the election is in May and not August.
Early voting for the special election to finish out the term of former Mayor Megan Barry ended Saturday with 34,576 ballots cast, fewer than 10 percent of active registered voters in Davidson County. Turnout was highest Saturday with 7,818 voters turning up.
