Nashville Children's Theatre is a great place to take the whole family, especially if one of your kids has the acting bug. These 12-week classes are designed to help kids develop their 'actors toolbox' with skill-building exercises for the first 8 weeks. The latter 4 weeks focus on preparation for the final performance of a creative, collaborative piece. You can sign up for winter drama classes online.

Nashville After Zone Alliance is a program that was founded in 2010 in order to provide low-income students enrolled in Nashville Public Schools with opportunities that would otherwise be cost prohibiting. The 'Center for Imagination' after school program is designed to nurture creativity through group-based, hands-on projects, guest speakers and field trips. Interested in enrolling your child? Rock Zone School of Music is an after school program perfect for kids who have a passion for the arts-particularly music. Students are picked up in the Rock Zone 'Rocket' van from their school, and are given the opportunity to meet new friends, learn popular songs and rehearse together in 'Rock Groups.' Students are also given 1 hour to work on their homework and a 30 minute snack break. You can register for the Rock Zone School of Music online.

TAP Nashville is an after school program based in North Nashville designed to reduce the achievement gap among lower-performing students and disrupt the cycle of poverty through one-on-one mentoring programs. TAP serves over 80 children in the North Nashville and Metro Nashville areas. They rely on 225 volunteer mentors who focus on developing academic skills and social enrichment. Mr. Bond and The Science Guys is a great after school option if your child is interested in hands-on, creative scientific experiments. The 'C.S.I Club' program is a popular selection. It gives kids a mystery to solve over the 10 week program and allows them to develop social and problem solving skills, while having fun. If you're lucky enough to have two children interested in science, Mr. Bond and The Science Guys offers a sibling discount - you can register each child for $100 instead of $120.
