Flirting Suspicion Leads To Butcher Knife Attack: Police

A Nashville man was arrested July 4 for attempting to stab a man he thought was flirting with his wife.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A Nashville man accused another of flirting with his wife and then came at him with a butcher knife, according to Metro Police.

Residents of an apartment complex called police July 4 to say that a man - later identified as Lincoln Graves - was waving a butcher knife and threatening to kill another man.

According to an arrest report, Graves, who officers said was "clearly intoxicated," believed the man was flirting with his wife, then grabbed the knife and began threatening the man.

Graves also allegedly went to the man's truck and slashed up the passenger seat.

Graves is charged with attempted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
