I-40 Closed Near Downtown After Semi Hits Overpass
A semi truck is stuck under an overpass at the I-40 East/I-65 interchange.
NASHVILLE, TN — Traffic delays were already likely as people head into Nashville for tonight’s Predators playoff game and ahead of Saturday’s marathon. Now it’s only going to be worse.
A semi-truck hauling Caterpiller heavy equipment is stuck under an overpass near the Interstate 40 East and Interstate 65 interchange.
The ramp from I-65 North to I-40 West is closed and I-40 East is closed at exit 210.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says expect the road to be closed through the night. Bridge inspectors were on the scene.

The driver did not have the proper certification to be driving the load and the load itself did not have the proper permits to be transiting through downtown, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
