Metro Nashville School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Metro Nashville is August 7. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Metro Nashville Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

September

• 9/1: No School for Students (Teacher Planning/PD Day)
• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/6: Progress Reports Issued

October

• 10/5: End of First Quarter
• 10/6: No School for Students (Teacher Planning/PD Day)
• 10/9 - 10/13: No School (Fall Break)
• 10/23: Report Cards Issued

November

• 11/1: No School for Students (Parent Conference Day)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/15: Progress Reports Issued
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/12 - 12/14:Half Day for Grades 9-12 (Exams)
• 12/15: Half Day for Students, End of First Semester
