Middle Tennessee Weather: Heavy Rain, High Winds Saturday

OLD HICKORY, TN -- Middle Tennessee is in line for some heavy rains and high winds Saturday into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

A strong line of storms will begin pushing into far northwest Middle Tennessee Saturday, spreading throughout the Midstate through the day. The NWS says severe storms are possible all through the day, but the best chance is between late morning and early afternoon.

The models suggest storms are mostly like west of Interstate 65 in the morning and along and south of Interstate 40 in the afternoon and evening.

While heavy rain - and with it, flooding chances - are the primary threat, there's also a good chance of strong and possibly damaging straight-line winds.
