Highs across Middle Tennessee slide back into the low 90s and even the upper 80s this week. Break out the sweaters!

NASHVILLE, TN -- Get those windbreakers out, as highs will be down into the low 90s this week, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Nashville. Sarcasm aside, the cool down, as small as it may be, will be a welcome respite. Beyond the usual summer pop-up storm, the best chance for rain comes Friday.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and storms after 1 p.m., otherwise partly sunny, high of 92 with a heat index up to 100. Partly cloudy overnight, low of 70 .

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and a bit cooler, high of 88. Partly cloudy after sundown, low of 68.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a 20 percent chance of rain after 1 p.m., high of 91. Partly cloudy in the evening with a 20 percent chance of showers, low of 71.

Friday: Partly sunny with a 50 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., high of 90. A 70 percent chance of storms overnight, low of 73.
