Nashville Area Weather Forecast: Stormy Weekend, A Bit Cooler

There's a strong chance of storms throughout the weekend across Middle Tennessee with temperatures moderating just a bit.

NASHVILLE, TN — Storms are often the trade-off for slightly cooler summer temperatures in Middle Tennessee and that's certainly going to be the case this weekend, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Nashville. Highs will slide down into the mid and upper 80s but strong storm chances threaten every day.

Friday: A 60 percent chance of showers and storms, especially after 1 p.m., otherwise mostly cloudy, high of 86. Winds of 5 to 15 mph could gust to 20 mph. Mostly cloudy overnight with a 30 percent chance of showers and storms before 1 a.m., low of 69.

Saturday: Partly sunny with a 20 percent chance of showers and storms after 1 p.m., high of 87. Mostly cloudy in the evening with a 70 percent chance of showers and storms, low of 72.

Sunday: A 60 percent chance of showers and storms otherwise mostly cloudy, high of 88. Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and storms after dark, low of 72.
