As June gives way to July, Middle Tennesseans will face the higher temperatures of the year (so far).

NASHVILLE, TN — Not even daily storm chances will provide relief from the weekend heat, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Nashville. High temperatures will stay in the mid-90s, with triple digit heat indices, and lows barely getting below 80.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, high of 94 with a heat index of 103. Partly cloudy overnight, low of 76.

Saturday: Partly sunny with a 20 percent chance of showers and storms, high of 95. Partly cloudy in the evening with a 20 percent chance of showers and storms, low of 75.
