Nashville Bus Crashes Into Building, 9 Injured

An MTA bus hit downtown's Lofts at the Reserve Thursday, injuring nine people.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A Metropolitan Transit Authority bus crashed into a downtown Nashville building Thursday morning, injuring nine people.

Shortly after 8 a.m., the bus and another car were involved in a wreck at the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Church Street which caused the MTA bus to crash into the former Federal Reserve building on Rosa Parks, which is now a condo complex known as The Lofts At The Reserve.

MTA officials say the bus, which was towed from the scene, is likely totaled; MTA buses cost between $500,000 and $800,000.

Seven passengers, the bus driver and the driver of the other car were all taken to the hospital with injuries, all of which Nashville Fire officials said were non-critical.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with those involved in the accident," MTA officials said in a statement.
