Nashville Dog Featured In Animal Planet's First 'Dog Bowl'

Animal Planet is supplementing its wildly popular Puppy Bowl with an event for older dogs and a Nashville dog is on the show.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Building on the success of the Super Bowl Sunday cult favorite Puppy Bowl, Animal Planet is adding an event for older dogs this year -- appropriately called the Dog Bowl -- and a Nashville canine is in the mix.

Older shelter dogs are often passed over for adoption in favor of their younger kennel mates. In an effort to bring attention to more experienced dogs, Animal Planet is inaugurating the Dog Bowl, premiering Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.

Bucky, who was a resident at Metro Animal Care and Control's shelter but has since been adopted, was selected as a member of one of the teams.
