Nashville July 4th Fireworks: 2018 Guide

Nashville hosts one of the largest Independence Day fireworks shows in the country and, of course, there's music. Here's your guide.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Nashville's Independence Day celebration "Let Freedom Sing!" has grown into one of the biggest Independence Day celebrations in the country capped off by one of the largest fireworks displays.

The all-day affair draws hundreds of thousands of people to Lower Broadway, with revelers filling the streets and parks to capacity and jockeying for the best positions around downtown. The 2018 edition is shaping up to be no different with a full day of music followed by the traditional patriotic reading from. The stentorian Barry Scott and the climactic fireworks display set to the music of the Nashville Symphony.

Here's everything you need to know.

Where: Lower Broadway and Ascend Amphitheater with the Family Fun Zone at Walk of Fame Park between the Country Music Hall of Fame, Bridgestone Arena and the Downtown Hilton. All locations are free.

When: The event begins at noon with a DJ spinning tunes at the Family Fun Zone from noon until four. The music begins at Ascend Amphitheater at 4 and will continue through the night:

  • 4-5:15 p.m.: DJ Coach
  • 5:15-5:30 p.m.: National anthem by Shannon Sanders and welcome from emcee Storme Warren and Mayor David Briley
  • 5:30-6 p.m.: Shannon Sanders
  • 6-6:15 p.m.: DJ Coach
  • 6:15-6:45 p.m.: Lucie Silvas
  • 6:45-7 p.m.: DJ Coach
  • 7-7:50 p.m.: Chris Janson
  • 7:50-8:10 p.m.: DJ Coach
  • 8:10-9:10 p.m.: Lady Antebellum
  • 9:10-9:18 p.m.: Remarks from emcee Kelly Sutton
  • 9:18-9:30 p.m.: Barry Scott Patriotic Recitation and Nashville Symphony
  • 9:30-10 p.m.: Nashville Symphony and Fireworks Show

Is there an app?: Of course! The official app available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play has a full schedule and information.

Can I bring my backpack or cooler?: You can't. Police advise treating any personal belongings as if you are at the airport.

Family Fun Zone: The aforementioned family fun zone opens at noon and will have inflatables and other activities for the kids, plus face-painting and large screens to watch all the goings-on. Dr. Pepper will give away free Dr. Pepper Cherry and the college football national championship trophy will be on display.

Road closures, traffic and parking: Pay parking is available at Nissan Stadium, the courthouse, the library and the Music City Center, in addition to private lots.
