Nashville Officer Injured In Head-On Crash

A Metro Nashville Police officer broke his ankle in a head-on crash on West Trinity Lane.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A Metro Nashville Police officer broke his ankle in a head-on crash after a traffic stop on West Trinity and Wednesday.

An officer pulled over a car for an expired license plate around 7:30 p.m. During the stop, the driver made a U-turn, crashing into another officer's patrol car and breaking his ankle, according to investigators.

The 19-year-old driver, Jermain Brown Jr., faces two counts of evading arrest. There were two other teenagers in the car.

The officer was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

Police closed a stretch of West Trinity Lane between Buena Vista Pike and Young's Lane for a few hours during the investigation.
