Nashville Rescue Mission Serves Thousands On Thanksgiving
Hundreds of volunteers served more 5,000 Thanksgiving meals at the Nashville Rescue Mission.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Hundreds of volunteers served thousands of Thanksgiving meals at the Nashville Rescue Mission Wednesday.
The shelter for Nashville's homeless serves about 5,000 meals on the day before Thanksgiving - roughly 3,200 more than it does on a normal day - and relies on hundreds of extra helping hands, which included Mayor Megan Barry.
"It's always such a treat to come to the Rescue Mission the day before Thanksgiving," the mayor told NewsChannel 5. "They did 500 turkeys yesterday, and they will serve all of them today to the folks of this community."
