Nashville Rock 'N' Roll Marathon 2018: Road Closures Set

Get all the road closures and access tips for Saturday's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in Nashville.

NASHVILLE, TN — More than 30,000 runners are expected to participate in the 2018 edition of the St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in Nashville Saturday, April 28, with road closures beginning Friday night.

The 5K will begin at 6:45 and the full and half marathon at 7:15 a.m. Metro Police urge people to arrive early as road closures will begin early Saturday morning. Those who intend to park in the Pinnacle Bank garage should be there by 6:15 a.m. Those intending to park in the Music City Center garage must access it from Korean Veterans Boulevard at 6th Avenue South. Both the James Robertson Parkway and Woodland Street Bridges will be closed. First Avenue to the Gay Street connector will be open and First Avenue will be the best way to move from north to south in the downtown area.

Security preparations will begin late Friday night and Metro Police ask drivers to mind the bagged parking meters and other no-parking indicators as cars will be towed beginning at midnight. The entire marathon route will close at 6:30 a.m., though portions near the start on Lower Broadway will close at 3 a.m..
