Nashville Rock 'N' Roll Marathon 2018: Wietecha Wins 6th Straight
Hendersonville teacher Scott Wietecha won his sixth straight Nashville Marathon, despite a breakfast of Lucky Charms and not much training.
NASHVILLE, TN -- Hendersonville teacher Scott Wietecha proved once again Saturday that the Nashville Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is his race to lose.
The 36-year-old Beech High School cross-country coach won the men's marathon for the sixth consecutive time, despite not having much time for training, his students telling him he was too old and slow to win and a rather unconventional breakfast.
It's not your typical answer but last night was pizza and this morning, I had three bowls of Lucky Charms, a granola bar, a bottle of Gatorade and coffee. Fortunately, I have an iron stomach.

Wietecha completed the 26.2 miles in 2:28:17.

The women's winner was Stella Christoforou of Fort Campbell, finishing in 2:54:43. Roosevelt Cook, of Hesperia, Calif., won the men's half-marathon at 1:09:37. Nashville's Gisela Oldade took home the women's half in 1:19:49.
