NCAA Baseball: Vanderbilt Hosts Mississippi State, Tech To Texas
Vanderbilt will host Mississippi State in an NCAA Baseball Super Regional this weekend; tourney darlings Tennessee Tech travels to Texas.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The Vanderbilt Commodores will host fellow Southeastern Conference team Mississippi State in an NCAA Baseball Super Regional at Hawkins Field this weekend. Tennessee Tech, the surprise of the tournament thus far, will travel to Texas for a Super Regional.
Vanderbilt's games will be 7 p.m. Friday on ESPN2 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN. The if-necessary third game is set for 5 p.m. Sunday on ESPN2.

The Commodores advanced by sweeping home-standing Clemson in the regional final. The Golden Eagles took out Ole Miss to clinch their berth Monday. Tech will play 3 p.m. Friday on ESPN 2 and 3 p.m. Saturday on ESPN2 against the Longhorns in Austin. The if-necessary game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday on ESPN2.
This is the eighth Super Regional appearance for Vandy and the first for Tech; indeed, it's the first Super Regional appearance for any team from the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Commodores have won three previous Super Regional series to advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., beating Oregon State at home in 2011, Stanford at home in 2014 and Illinois on the road in 2015. The 'Dores won the national title in 2014 and finished runner-up in 2015. This will be the third time Vanderbilt has hosted a Super Regional series. In addition to the aforementioned wins against Oregon State and Stanford, the 'Dores lost to Louisville in 2013.
