Rescue Dog Missing Near Nashville's John C. Tune Airport

Georgia the German shorthaired pointer slipped her harness and escaped near John Tune Sunday.

NASHVILLE, TN — The search is on for a rescue dog who slipped her harness at John C. Tune Airport Sunday and ran towards Centennial Boulevard.

Georgia, a German shorthaired pointer, was being transported by a volunteer pilot from the Pilot n Paws program to take her from the Peach State to All Points West GSP Rescue outside of Denver. The pilot made a stop at Tune to pick up another pooch and took Georgia for a bathroom break. Georgia, being the excitable sort, slipped her harness and ran. Though the pilot searched as long as he could, he eventually had to leave.

Since her escape Sunday afternoon, she has been seen a handful of times, mostly around Nashville Steel at 7211 Centennial Boulevard. Humane traps have been set but she is still on the lam.
