St. Patrick's Day: Police Plan Roadblocks, Sheriff Offers Rides

Metro Nashville Police announced a weekend roadblock for St. Patrick's Day, while the sheriff's office is offering sober rides once again.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Spring Saturdays can be a little wild in Nashville as it is, but with St. Patrick's Day falling on a Saturday in 2018, things could be a bit crazier than usual.

Metro Nashville Police are planning a roadblock on Eighth Avenue South from Saturday night through early Sunday morning and adding extra patrols to check for aggressive or impaired drivers throughout the city.

Meanwhile, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office is offering its sober ride program for the 15th year.

Deputies will be stationed at Second Avenue and Broadway from 10 p.m. Saturday through 2 a.m. Sunday, offering rides home to anywhere in Davidson County.
