Stuck Truck Redux: Another Semi Jams Up Under Nashville Overpass
An excavator-hauling tractor-trailer was too high for an overpass in The Nations and got stuck Wednesday afternoon.

NASHVILLE, TN -- It was a 46th Avenue heartbreak for a tractor-trailer driver in The Nations Wednesday, as he misjudged the height of Interstate 40's overpass of the surface road and got his trailer's load, an excavator, hung up.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol and Department of Transportation, along with Metro Police, diverted traffic on 46th near Alabama Avenue in order to get the semi pulled loose. Interstate traffic was not affected, though the exit from the westbound lanes was blocked during the extraction attempt.
Trucks weighing more than 5,000 pounds are barred from using 46th.

In April, I-40 near the I-65 interchange was closed for hours after a truck driver who mistakenly thought he was cleared to travel through Nashville struck an overpass. Those repairs are ongoing.
