NASHVILLE, TN -- At 3:25 Tuesday morning - to the minute, the one-month anniversary of the fatal shooting at a Nashville Waffle House - James Shaw Jr., the 29-year-old man credited with saving untold lives by grabbing the hot barrel of an AR-15 and wresting from the gunman, released a mini-documentary on YouTube.
The video, titled "What We Do In Life Echoes In Eternity," shows Shaw presenting checks to the families of the four victims - Taurean Sanderlin, 29, Joe Perez, 20, DeEbony Groves, 21, and Akilah Dasilva, 23 -who were killed in the shooting at the Waffle House one month ago. In the aftermath of the shooting, Shaw started a GoFundMe campaign, which eventually raised nearly a quarter-million dollars, bolstered by big donations from, among others, Ellen DeGeneres, who had Shaw as a guest on her show, where he met NBA star Dwyane Wade.
