Yes, Roundabouts Are Coming To More Nashville Intersections

Look left and drive right: more roundabouts are coming to Nashville.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Four more intersections across Davidson County will be fitted with roundabouts in coming weeks.

Construction of the popular English traffic-flow scheme is underway at:

  • Sawyer Brown and Todd Pries in Bellevue
  • Blue Hole Road and Pettus Road in Antioch
  • 15th Avenue South and Elmwood
  • Mt. Pisgah Road and Edmondson Pike

Metro Public Works is looking at other intersections, as engineers argue they are a better solutions than new lights, which, they say, lead to people speeding through a light and do little to ease congestion, Councilwoman Sherri Weiner, whose 22nd District includes Bellevue, told WSMV.

Other neighborhoods are getting temporary "pop-up roundabouts" from the Nashville Civic Design, the first of which rolled out last year.
