ACROSS TEXAS — A group of military families has filed a lawsuit against their private housing landlord, alleging their homes on three separate Texas bases were infested with mold, bugs, rodents and other insects.

The lawsuit named Balfour Beatty Communities LLC and its associated companies as defendants, according to a report by The Military Times. The families, who lived in properties at Fort Bliss, Lackland Air Force Base and Sheppard Air Force Base, also say they experienced multiple sewer backups, mold infestation and burst pipes.

The lawsuit, filed June 8 in San Antonio federal court, is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. Together, the families are claiming financial losses through damage to personal property, excessive utility bills, medical bills and other expenses.
