Texas Hotels Listed Among Most Haunted In America

The Daily Meal listed the most haunted hotels in America based on locations with the most reported sightings.

With the Halloween season in full swing, thrill seekers hoping for a ghostly encounter would be wise to head to Texas, which is reportedly home to two of the most haunted hotels in America.

The Daily Meal last month listed 25 of the most haunted hotels based on reported sightings from staffers, guests and even — get this — paranormal investigators. The list is chock-full of different types of hauntings, including reports of iPods playing on their own, unexplained sounds, apparition sightings and even ghosts who stand at the edge of your bed and kick to wake you up.

On that list: Emily Morgan Hotel in San Antonio and the Driskill Hotel in Austin. Here’s what the report had to say about the hotels.

Emily Morgan Hotel (San Antonio, Texas)

This hotel was once the Medical Arts Building which featured a morgue in the lobby. Hotel staff has since reportedly seen a woman in a white dress roaming the halls and flickering lights.

The Driskill Hotel (Austin, Texas)

At the crux of the paranormal activity to have allegedly occurred at the hotel involved two suicides, 20 years apart. Two brides staying in room 525 had died in the bathtub, The Daily Meal reported. Aside from these deaths, patrons have reported hearing knocking on doors when no one is there.
