Jay Decker Opens Filta to Serve Area Commercial Kitchens
Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions, a fryer management franchise, is already working with Hickory Tree, Baker's Ribs and The Malt Shop

Texas native Jay Decker recently opened Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions (Filta), the world’s restaurant kitchen and hospitality leader in active fryer management and environmental sustainability, and his Fort Worth-area franchise has begun servicing North Central restaurants in Burleson, Granbury and Weatherford including Baker’s Ribs, The Hickory Tree and The Malt Shop.
Filta makes commercial kitchens safer, more efficient, and environmentally sustainable by micro-filtering existing cooking oil, providing bin-free waste oil collection, deep cleaning fryers, and recycling waste oil for bio-diesel fuel. In addition to working with nearly 7,000 commercial restaurant kitchens nationwide every week, Filta also services institutional kitchens inside casinos, universities, hospitals, groceries, business facilities, and professional and collegiate sports stadiums including 23 of the National Football League’s (NFL’s) 32 venues.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jay into the Filta family and, through our extensive and thorough training and on-boarding process, he has already begun offering micro-filtering services and waste oil collection to a number of restaurants across North Central Texas,” said Tom Dunn, Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions chief operating officer. “The launch of Jay’s business is just one more marker of Filta’s steady and smart expansion to fill in available territories across the country.”

Filta is a home-based, multi-service, multi-van franchise system offering entrepreneurs a predictable revenue stream model built on weekly repeat business within exclusive territories. With minimal overhead, a marginal equipment investment and a customer base that is easily scalable, Filta franchisees are well positioned for success.
“For a variety of reasons, I was ready to step away from the world of finance and real estate and, as I researched entrepreneurial brands, Filta’s franchise model stood out from the rest,” said Decker, Filta’s North Central Texas franchisee. “The brand offers many positives, including an incredible internal sales team which has – even before I officially launched – provided me a ready set of repeat weekly customers. I’ve already hit the ground running, and getting down to the operation of my business could not be more satisfying.”

Since its inception in 1996, Filta has positioned itself as the pioneering leader of the active fryer management industry. Most recently, the brand expanded its kitchen services into humidity control for cold storage and grease-free drain foams making it a recognized and turnkey environmental leader across the restaurant and hospitality industry. Through its network of thousands of commercial and restaurant kitchens that it services every week, Filta has recycled nearly 1 billion pounds of used cooking oil into bio-diesel, significantly reducing the impact of fryer oil on the environment. For every gallon of bio-diesel put into use, Filta prevents 16 pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.
