"This needs to serve as a reminder that we will not allow guns in our schools," Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson tweeted.

ARLINGTON, TX -- Two teenage Nichols Junior High students were arrested Wednesday morning after they brought two loaded guns to school. A male student was charged with terroristic threat and places weapons prohibited and a female student was charged with places weapons prohibited after the male student placed it her backpack, Arlington Police Department wrote on Facebook.
Nichols Junior High has metal detectors on campus but they are used randomly and not everyday. The boy's gun was initially spotted by another female student, CBS DFW reported.
“The school district actually froze the classroom,” Arlington Police spokesperson Chris Cook said, according to CBS DFW. “She was able to describe the student and they pulled all the kids out. Then we did a methodical search, or actually the school district did. They located a firearm and that’s when PD was brought in.”
