Woman Accused Of Stealing From Arlington Football Booster Club
The 48-year-old woman was arrested in Cleveland, Ohio, on a warrant for theft.

ARLINGTON, TX — Police in Cleveland, Ohio, Tuesday arrested an Arlington woman accused of stealing almost $20,000 from Lamar High School's Football Booster Club, also known as the Viking Club.
Shelly Marie Dwyer, 48, served as the Viking Club's treasurer before being jailed.
Her arrest came after Bryan Huggins, the vice president of the booster club, noticed the taxes for the third and forth quarter of 2017 had not been paid, a probable cause affidavit from Arlington Police Department states.

The account was audited, and Dwyer was asked to turn over financial records, the checkbook, debit cards and other paperwork.
The affidavit states Dwyer admitted to taking cash deposits and keeping them for personal use. She also admitted to using the debit card and making cash withdrawals for personal use.
Police uncovered a history of unauthorized expenditures including money spent at American Airlines, Arlington Water Utilities, Spring Wireless and the North Texas Humane Society.
Various ATM withdrawals were also noted.
Dwyer is accused of stealing an estimated $19,077.59 from the booster club account, police say.
Police obtained sworn statements from three board members and learned the Viking Club intended to press charges, despite Dwyer's claims of a plan to repay the balance.
A warrant was issued, and Dwyer was arrested Tuesday in Ohio. The warrant states she is held on $3,500 bail.
