Bellaire Bank Robbed: Police Arrest Two Men Who Led Them On High-Speed Chase
Robbery suspects hit at least two cars and led police on a pursuit in speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour through Midtown to the Heights.

BELLAIRE, TX — Two bank robbery suspects are in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase from Bellaire to just south of the Heights area.
The hot pursuit began after two men robbed the Amegy Bank in the 5300 block of Bissonnet Street at Bellaire and jumped into a black Mercedes with paper tags.
Officials with the Bellaire Police Department received a 911 call from inside the bank indicating a robbery was in progress.

The bank robbers led police on a chase that reached speeds of 100 miles per hour as they evaded police on nearly every major freeway through Midtown and, the Heights. During the chase, the robbery suspects hit at least two cars while trying to evade police, but no one was injured, police said.

Police said the vehicle, which blew three tires during the chase, may have been stolen.
Eventually, the car came to a stop at Interstate 45 and Enid and both men jumped from the car and ran from officers.
The driver of the car got out and immediately tried to carjack another car and was tackled by a bystander as officers converged on them.
The passenger of the car also ran and was quickly tackled by police.
Police believe the men might have been involved in other bank robberies.
The incident is under investigation.
