Bellaire Debris Pickup Begins Round 2 Of 3

If your house was missed the first time, here's contact information to alert the city you still have debris piled up

BELLAIRE, TX — A first pass of debris pickup has been finished in Bellaire, according to a notice sent Wednesday afternoon. There will be two more passes through the city, and city leaders ask for residents' help in identifying spots that need pickup or may have been missed during the first pass.

If your property was missed by the debris contractor during the first pass, then you can send an email to PW@bellairetx.gov with your address and a picture of the debris, which would be helpful. You are also welcome to contact Public Works by phone at (713) 662-8170 to report an issue.

It is expected that the second pass will progress much more quickly than the first. If the weather holds, the second pass should take no longer than two weeks. The contractor will progress from the southern limits of the City to the northern limits during the second pass.

Below are a few tips to help keep the debris operation running as smoothly as possible:

  • Separate your normal solid waste from your storm debris
  • Keep your storm debris away from trees as they inhibit the contractor’s ability to effectively remove debris
  • Do not place debris near, atop or adjacent to things of value to you, decorative pavers, tiled walkways, etc. Debris removal is not a delicate operation and it is important that residents take steps to minimize damage to their personal property
  • White goods (appliances) and electronics will be picked up during the second and third debris removal passes
  • House hold hazardous waste (HHW) including paint, gasoline, chemicals, etc. will be picked up during the third pass

The contractor is working to limit damage to yards, but any yards damaged by debris removal equipment will be graded at the end of the debris removal operation, however sod will not be provided. If your water line, wastewater line, irrigation system or other item in your yard was damaged by the contractor, then you can email PW@bellairetx.gov with your address and a picture of the issue or issues would be most helpful. You are also welcome to contact Public Works by phone at (713) 662-8170 to report an issue.
