Bellaire Debris Pickup From Hurricane Harvey 65 Percent Complete
The city's completed two of its three sweeps through town to collect all debris from the devastating storm

BELLAIRE, TX — The city of Bellaire announced Thursday it is nearing completion of the second phase of picking up debris in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. The final pass through the city won't begin until Monday, Oct. 23, but the city expects the sweep to go faster than the first two.
"It is our objective to have all of the storm debris picked up prior to October 31," the city said in a statement. "Please remember to keep storm debris as far away from trees, water meter boxes, irrigation lines, etc. to minimize damage. Please also continue to separate storm debris from your normal solid waste.
The city’s storm debris contractor is only authorized to pick up materials that resulted from storm damage. If property sustained damage during the debris removal process — irrigation systems, water meter boxes, sanitary sewer cleanouts and large ruts — the city wants to know about it.

Email pictures and a description of the damage to PW@bellairetx.gov. The City has been and will continue to compile the information and provide it to the contractor for their processing.
"Unfortunately, the City is unable to sod or re-seed lawns," the city stated. "This will be the responsibility of the home owner. The City is working to finalize a schedule for Household hazardous waste (HHW) pick up. It is our objective that HHW items will also be picked up prior to the 31."
