Bellaire Football Looks To Bounce Back Tonight
After loss to Heights last week, Bellaire Cardinals face struggling Houston MST; Bellaire season stats included

BELLAIRE, TX — The Bellaire Cardinals are back in action tonight after a short week of practice. The Bellaire varsity football team (2-2, 1-1 in District 18-6A) will host the Houston Math Science and Tech Tigers (1-2, 0-1) in a district contest at Butler Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Bellaire lost to Heights last week, 31-12, in a battle of teams playing for first place in district. Houston MST lost its district opener to Heights, 68-7, two weeks ago and had a bye last week. The Tigers previously lost to Wheatley, 71-35, in non-district.
Bellaire is led by senior quarterback Darion Manning, who has completed 44-of-69 passes for 669 yards and eight touchdowns with only three picks. He has a 116.2 quarterback rating and also leads the Cardinals with 300 rushing yards with another touchdown. John Busby has 251 rushing yards and a touchdown. The leading receivers for Bellaire are Christian Wise, Jahnari Ball, Jarvis Ball and Jaqualin Franks. The quarter has accounted 774 yards and nine touchdown receptions. Amber White and Tyree Jackson are the team's leading tacklers on defense.
