Houston Weather: National Weather Service Issues Severe Storm Warning For Area

Hail and high winds could occur, with gusts reaching 25 miles per hour.

Following a band of storms that swept through the Dallas area on Tuesday night and has left tens of thousands of residents without power this morning, the Houston area will face some stormy weather today.

The National Weather Service issued the following warning on Wednesday morning: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 81. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
