Severe Weather To Hit Houston Region On Friday: NWS

National Weather Service warns of heavy rains, hail, and tornadoes.

HOUSTON, TX — The week has seen a lot of sun thus far, but that's all about to change, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a warning for Friday in the Houston area. The NWS says heavy rains will move into the Bayou City after noon on Friday, part of a storm front that will include rain, high winds, and hail or tornadoes.

Areas northwest of Houston will be hit the hardest — from Cleveland to Brenham, according to the agency.

The rains will likely dissipate by Saturday afternoon.
