Women Only: Bellaire Police To Offer Rape Aggression Defense Classes

BELLAIRE, TX — Do you know what to do if a stranger approaches you in a dark parking garage or empty street? Run? Scream? The Bellaire Police Department wants to make sure you are confident in any situation, and has scheduled a series of Rape Aggression Defense System classes in March.
The RAD System for Women is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. RAD Systems provides comprehensive courses that begin with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
The classes are open to women only, and are limited to 20 students; observers are not allowed to attend. The courses is 12 hours over three days, and light to moderate physical activities will be required.

R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program, and the courses are taught by certified RAD Instructors.
Here is the class schedule: Monday, March 27 from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; Tuesday, March 28 from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; Wednesday, March 29 from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
