Austin Still Most Expensive City For Apartment Rents, But Leander, Cedar Park Not Far Behind
Metro Report on 13 regional cities shows Austin, Leander tied as most expensive with $1,090 average rent costs while Round Rock ranked 3rd.

AUSTIN, TX — Austin retained the top spot in the metro area in terms of most expensive cities in which to rent an apartment with Leander and Cedar Park not far behind, according to a new report.
Officials at Zumper has published their latest Metro Report for the Austin region, covering 13 cities in the Austin metro area in surveying the most- and least-expensive cities and those with the fastest-growing rates.
According to the findings, the most expensive cities in which to rent are Austin, Brushy Creek and Leander tied for the most expensive city to rent with one bedrooms priced at $1,090. Hutto, Texas, had the second-priciest rent at $1,030. Cedar Park, followed closely behind as third with rent at $1,020, according to the report.

In terms of least-expensive cities, rent in San Marcos remained the most affordable in the metro at $890. The cities of Jollyville and Georgetown tied for the second-least expensive city with rent at $950. Wells Branch, Round Rock, & Buda all ranked third with one bedroom apartments priced just under the $1,000 threshold at $990, researchers found.
