Cedar Park Volleyball Player Earns Lone Star Conference Award

Setter Lindsey Ledyard was named to the All-LSC second team as member of the Angelo State University Belles.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Seven members of the Angelo State University Belles volleyball team, including a student from Cedar Park, have earned All-Lone Star Conference postseason awards for their performance during the 2019 regular season.

Setter Lindsey Ledyard of Cedar Park was named to the All-LSC second team. A junior, she has played in all 92 sets for the Belles, registering 467 assists and 22 service aces on offense, while registering 217 digs on defense.

Another Williamson County player garnered accolades for her play as well. Middle blocker Sophia Berg of Georgetown also earned All-LSC honorable mention and was named to the LSC All-Academic Team. The sophomore has played in 75 of the 92 sets for the Belles, registering 120 total kills, 22 digs and a team-high 78 blocks.

Others making the cut:

  • Setter Meghan Parker of San Antonio won the Academic Player of the Year Award for the second straight year and was named to the All-LSC first team and the LSC All-Academic Team. A senior exercise science major, Parker has played in all 92 sets for the Belles this season, totaling 466 assists, 171 digs, and 30 service aces. She is currently sixth all-time in assists and second in service aces in the ASU career record book.
  • Right side Kailyn Gilbreath of Fort Worth won the Offensive Player of the Year Award and was also named to the All-LSC first team and the LSC All-Academic Team. She had a breakout year in her first season as a Belle. The redshirt sophomore leads the team in kills with 358, and is ranked third in the LSC in hitting percentage at .392 and fourth in kills with 327 in conference play.
  • Right side Sundara Chinn of Houston was named to the All-LSC first team for the second straight year. A senior, she is second on the Belles in kills with 220 and digs with 72, and she rankes third on the team with 59 blocks.
  • Defensive specialist Makenna Hanssen of San Antonio and outside hitter Haley Coulter of Bradenton, Fla., earned All-LSC honorable mention. Hanssen, a sophomore, has played in 91 of 92 sets for Angelo State, registering 132 assists, 15 service aces and a team-high 356 digs. Coulter, a senior, has played in 83 of the 92 sets for the Belles, notching 169 kills, 15 service aces and 269 digs.

Angelo State University, founded in 1928, is a thriving four-year public school in Texas. Officials there said their Ram Family environment helps students feel at home in a place where they know faculty and staff who care deeply about their success.
