Cold Weather Prompts WilCo Schools To Go Virtual
An Arctic blast that has yielded hazardous road conditions has spurred school districts to offer remote learning given continued cold ahead.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — School districts in Williamson County have opted to go virtual in the coming days in light of an Arctic blast that has yielded dangerous driving conditions.
Round Rock ISD will offer remote learning through Thursday following the same schedule as normal, officials said. Students unable to access virtual classes or complete their lesson plans because of power outages will be able to make up the work at a later time, officials said. The cold snap also has forced closure of the district's COVID-19 testing site. Parents, guardians, staff, and community members are encouraged to visit the District’s website, download our mobile app, and Twitter or Facebook pages for updates and additional information.
The inclement weather and treacherous road conditions have made it necessary for Food Services to cancel student curbside meal service on Wednesday, Feb. 17, & Thursday, Feb 18.
