If approved, one of Leander's oldest standing homes could be redeveloped into a brewpub and restaurant.

LEANDER, TX — One of Leander's oldest standing homes could be redeveloped into a brewpub and restaurant, according to city plans.
The city of Leander announced June 3 it is aiming to create a public-private partnership to redevelop the Davis House in Old Town Leander.
This partnership will allow a private business to occupy the city-owned building to preserve the building and "honor its character" with private funds, officials said.

Leander City Council unanimously approved the first reading of site zoning changes on June 3.
If approved on the second reading Thursday, the zoning will change from civic space to general commercial.
According to city documents, a brewpub and restaurant will be allowed.

Cameron Goodman, a city economic development managing partner, said at the June 3 council meeting the city is looking for creative ways to find funding to help save one of the oldest homes in Leander, which is need of repairs.
City officials said Old Town Incentive Program funding could be used to cover some of these costs. Interested businesses include restaurants, bars with food service and brewpubs.
