Mail Theft Suspects May Have 'Master Key': Cedar Park PD
Officials told police that a pair of suspects in the Nov. 28 incident may have a key that can open citywide mail boxes and collection bins.

CEDAR PARK, Texas — A pair of suspects accused in the robbery of a U.S. Postal Service worker in late November may have stolen a “master key,” that unlocks various mailboxes and collection bins across Cedar Park police, officials said Wednesday.
Police on Wednesday said in an update that the investigation continues regarding the robbery that occurred on Nov. 28 along the 1900 block of Yaupon Trail. Postal service officials told Cedar Park police the suspects may have gotten away with the master key, officials confirmed.
Law enforcement officials added that a $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to arrests and conviction. Robbery of a letter carrier is a federal offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison, police noted.

- Deposit outgoing mail at post office locations or in a U.S. Postal Service blue collection box before the last collection time.
- Retrieve incoming mail as quickly as possible, and do not let it sit overnight.
- Have incoming mail delivered to your work or to a neighbor or friend’s home that doesn’t need a locked mailbox.
- Pay attention to surroundings when checking mail.

Residents who have had their mail stolen can file a theft complaint online or by phone at (877) 876-2455. Those with information related to the robbery are urged to contact Detective Anthony Bridgewater at (512) 260-4886.
