CEDAR PARK, TX —A person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries in a shooting early Thursday morning in Cedar Park, officials said.
The Cedar Park Police Department said officers responded to the 2000 block of South Lakeline Boulevard amid reports of shots being fired.
"This remains an active investigation but at this time we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the public," police wrote on Twitter.
When law enforcement officials use such verbiage, it suggests the shooter and victim likely knew each other. In such cases, violence is typically the culmination of an altercation between two people rather than posing a general threat to the public.
