Black Friday shopping kicks off Thanksgiving Day with many retailers opening their doors a day ahead of Black Friday

HOUSTON — The Christmas shopping season is here and many retailers have made plans to kick off the holiday shopping season and open their doors late on Thanksgiving Day.

Stores who are hoping to reap the benefits of one of the strongest economies in years will kick off the Christmas shopping season while many are still snoozing after a day of eating Thanksgiving turkey.

Several retailers will open early Thursday morning, a day ahead of traditional Black Friday shopping. The stores that plan to open before noon on Thursday include Walgreen’s, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, Big Lots, and Dollar General.
